Another milestone in the boating industry - Trail Rite is discontinuing operations as the owners are retiring. After 40+ years there apparently isn't enough business to attract buyers . . .
That's a shame. My Trail Rite has been great and I never worry about it. This was the Catalina-250 OEM trailer when they were still built in California.
I am quite surprised that they would close rather than sell the business. Custom trailers are in demand and with a long reputation it should be worth something as a going concern. There web site does not mention closing . . . . . maybe just a rumor?

Correct, their website makes no mention of the shut down - but IT was not one of their strengths. I confirmed by calling and asking for the parts department and one of the principals confirmed they are closing and the property is up for sale.
When we had our trailer built in 2009, the operations manager talked about how unfriendly CA was towards some types of small business. An EPA issue I think . . . they had only a single vendor for galvanizing.
