On my daughter's 1981 Catalina 25 the original teak veneer is still there and in great shape. It has had numerous coats of Seafin teak oil applied but the luster or shine always fades rather quickly and my daughter likes a "shinier" finish. I have experience with both Cetol and Epiphanes. What would members of this august forum recommend? Thanks

I wouldn't use Cetol in the interior--it's characteristics and purpose are for easy maintenance of exterior teak. A popular interior finish among folks here is Howard's Restor-A-Finish, made for restoring worn, scuffed, and tired antique finishes. (Wipe on, wipe off.) The Golden Oak version seems to be the most popular for not darkening the teak. Cherry might be good, although once you use a darker version like that, you can't go back.
Another option is tung oil, where several coats will build up a durable satin finish but keep a relatively natural wood look. I've used in on interior teak. To go toward a glossier look, I'd probably use a polyurethane. I like urethane acrylic (water based) in the house, but I wouldn't guarantee its adhesion on teak due to the oil in the wood.

I have used Howard's "Restor A Finish" and their "Feed and Wax" Easy wipe on and wipe excess off. It lasts a long time. I can't recall when I redid it but probably not more than 1 or 2 times in 10 years and the application did not take long at all ! http://howardproducts.com/
Home Depot sometimes carries one or both of the products. The first one brings back the finish and will last pretty good but the second product increases longevity.
