I was following a previous thread about a broken paddle wheel for a knot meter. My meter doesn't seem to be made by any of the manufacturers listed in that thread. I belive the readout (which also is covered with a square plastic box) says "digipak". Anybody heard of it? The boat was made in 1989.
I think the impeller was broken during haul-out last year. I'd like to repair it if not too expensive. (I have a hand-held gps but having broken parts bugs me!)
Hi Tom, I have a knot meter/depth sounder combo which is a square instrument covered by a square plastic box with the words smart pac on the cover. this is made by signet marine in Torrance CA.You may take a look there. I took a look at www.signetmarine.com and didn't find any product labled digi pac however they didn't list my instrument either. probably mine is too old. (model SL 80, they are now up to model SL 250)
Thanks, John. I'll follow up with Signet Marine. I'm sure the electronic devices have evolved a lot, in appearance and function, since the late '80s when our boats were made. Maybe someone there will recognize the model.
Tom, I found it! the instrument is made by Plastimo and can be found at www.navman.com I didn't look too far into the site, but I'm sure someone there can help you.
