After a few years use, the plastic strips that the companion way roof slides on have given way. Can anyone advise where I can buy replacement strips? Any suggestions for adhering the new strips? Thanks, Lee SKOL 250K #414 Cayman Islands
Mine are starting to come off after a month.......I was figuring on removing them alltogether and waxing the wahoopa out of the gelcoat under it, then applying some teflon lubricant once in a while and forgetting about the tapes altogether, unless some sage on this forum convinces me otherwise.......
My tape has long since bit the dust. When I remember, I wax the slide. But, I must admit, most of the time I don't remember. Seems to work well with nothing.
I just used some silicon caulk to re-stick the tape and it has worked for another year, one edge is starting to come loose so I will just do it again...I bet that tape is available from Catalina...Check out this web site:http://www.uline.com/AdvSearchResult.asp?view=ALL&SubGroup=3120&Source=02 Steve

I did this 2years ago and they are just starting to come up again.
Lee; I got a roll of UHMW Plastic tape (ultra high molecular weight plastic) from Rockler Woodworking and Hardware (www.rockler.com) The tape is self adhesive and is sold as an anti-friction surface for making jigs and fixtures for woodworking. The material has been on the boat for about 2 years and is holding up well. I hope that Rockler still carries this product. Good sailing Bill c250wb Serendipity
Has anyone cosidered the fact that the tape might be a temporary protection? Like the plastic foil on appliances, to be removed by the retail customer?....Maybe we're all missing the point....after reading above....mine are coming off all the way. (I hate the dirt that collects under the edges.)
