Mark,
I replaced wench, cable and attaching hardware last year after a jarring "freefall" occured with my 86 SK. The distance of the freefall was probably only 2 feet, but when the ratchet palls finally kicked in, the sudden stop made a terrible sound a

a dickens of a time securing the thing. Trying
to put a flat washer, lock washer and nut on
upside down and in between steps was a hoot!
