Could someone send me instructions to operate the marine head in my 1978 Catalina 25? I have the 59128/50745 model, I am not sure which one.

Specifically, for the valve lever, which is the "Flush" position, and which is the "Dry bowl" position?

Thanks.

Martin -

I don't know which way is which. However its really simple to check, and it won't hurt anything. You can check by opening the through hull (or to hull) valve for your head. Pump a few times. If it is bringing in water, that is most likely the wet position. Flip the switch the other way and pump until there is no water left. If both ways are bringing in water, close the valve and by the head repair kit for what ever model you have.

I believe that number is a Par serial number. The were bought out by Jabsco.

the following link will take you to a "Literature Request" page on the Jabsco website...

Hope this helps

Duane,

Thanks for the advice. Today this is what I did:
Opened the valve;
Pumped the handel, but no water came in.
I manually added water to the head and was easily able to pump it out to the holding tank.
When I moved the handle position to the "other" position, I still cannot bring outside watet in.

Suggestions?
I think my next move is to replace the grudgy "fresh water" hose to see what is happening.

Is the valve to the outside water open? If not, you won't bring any water in.
