We held our annual "fun" race yesterday. I set a T-shaped 8.16 nm course with a gate at the junction and a turning mark at each end of the top of the T. The racers had to round each mark twice (a "540") and when they came back to the finish, go OUTSIDE the finish line, drop their sails and then motor in REVERSE across the finish line. (Well, it is a fun race...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
Our inimitable Steve Steakley - with wife Lynne at the helm, finished 3rd (I obviously made a serious math error working out the results...<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>) behind a Catalina 30 and a Beneteau 331. Here's a pic of the winning skipper.

The other rules included:
1. The skipper and the helmsman could not be the same person.
2. 10 seconds addred to PHRF for having a power boat couple as part of the crew
3. and 10 seconds for wearing a costume
this was a very fun day and Derek and his RC did a great job making sure we had a fun and safe race
