My manual bilge pump (operated from the cockpit) doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas or tips to get it working?

You may need a new diaphragm or valve. Most rebuild kits cost around $15.00 to $20.00 depending on which one you have and can be found at West Marine or other marine stores.

Joe,

When I first got my boat I had to prime the manual bilge pump before it would start working. It has worked well from that point on.
Good Luck.

Pr9iming would be my bet. I have a story to tell about a manual bp that had never been used. It was a different boat and we learned the hard way. Ity took a leather from a fishing harness to get it working-- but that was a "Big" boat and a blue water problem. Someday!

Joe:

It's a long shot... but do you have a Y-valve? My manual bilge pump empties the bilge or the head holding tank, depending on the setting of the Y-valve.

Is there a way to split the bilge hose so that when you pump it, it collects water from different bilge compartments?
