Has anyone had any problems trying to join the association? I have sent my app on line and mailed the check but have not heard from anyone nor has my check been processed. I have tried E-mail and phone but have not gotten any results yet.
<font face='Comic Sans MS'><font size=2>Bruce – When I renewed my membership recently I e-mailed Clifton Thompson to follow up. I found that he took awhile to respond but did eventually. The officers are spread pretty thin and sometimes it takes some time
Bruce, When I joined the association it took about two months before my check was even cashed. I also e-mailed to get verification that Clifton had received my check. Welcome to the cat-25 world.
I'm taking over Secretary duties this year. I know both Jim Meier and Clifton Thompson recognize we could do better when it comes to member notifications. I'm going to do what I can to help in that regard.
I brought this up a few months ago and it started a big debate. I mailed my check in LAST FEBRUARY and have note recived a single thing. I did email Clifton as directed, recieved an answer but after 10 months, still no results. So am I expected to rene
I spoke with Clifton a couple days ago. We're going to try splitting up some of the correspondence duties. As soon as I get a copy of the member roster, I'll be in a position to inform folks of their status and send (or email) info packets. We'll also goi

This is about the same sermon I heard about 3-4 months ago. I have gained a lot from this board and I have also contributed. But part of the dues also cover subscriptions to Mainsheet and TellTale, it would be nice to receive them. I think 10 months is
I've been taking advantage of this board for 2-3 years, and last year Dec 2000 felt that it was incumbent upon me to start giving rather than taking. So I too joined the organization. I share the stories with all of you. It took months for acknowlegment
i joined in may of 2001 and have received 2 issues of mainsheet but no autorization code for tell tail. i am listed in the owners directory and have been since, maybe july. is their any other information i should have received?
Jeez, I didn't mean to start anything. I find the associations site to be very informative. I will willingly pay more if it will help straighten out the confusion over membership. I enjoy the responses fom the regulars on the board and have tried to help
i too find the site to be informative and valuable. i check the site everyday. i would also be willing to pay more to get things done a little more expeditiously, and save members. by the way, how many paid members do we have at last count?
Ditto on the renewal situation. I'm sure my initial membership has expired, but I have received no renewal notice, and my e-mail inquiry of September or October into the subject has gone unanswered. I really enjoy this board and, as a complete tyro to s
You guys are great! I, too, will help, but my job requires me to be TOTALLY dedicated to it for several months of the year; the rest of the time I can find time to help. I'd love to volunteer to be a grammar/spelling Nazi for those who want to e-mail me
<font face='Comic Sans MS'><font size=2>The renewal process should be as easy as looking in your checkbook to see when you last wrote a check to the Assoc. If we all take a little responsibility we will lessen the burden on the officers. It’s really that
If we cannot get a check cleared or a newsletter out how long will it take to get a burgee if I order one? I'm not complaining. I love this forum as much as I used to like the old Compuserve sailing forum. I'm just not inclined to send my money off to whe
I hear what you are saying, but I confess I am not nearly that well organized. A search of my records for a year old check stub, especially when I am not sure just when in the previous year the check was issued, involves a commitment of expedi
Within the last few months I decided to pay or support what I have been using for over a year <img src=icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle> and joined the association. I have also received a copy of Mainsheet. Never tried telltale. <BLOCKQUOTE
Great picture Ben, wish I could do that. I've had several folks offer advice to do same but it's too complicated compared to the old site. Time was when I'd just stick a floppy disc into the computer and follow some simple directions, emphasis on the SIM

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>...For starters process should be an annual renewal. I realize that may cause some constitutional difficulty but nothing that can't be fixed.
