After many frustrating attempts at trying to remove the "crud" that has accumulated on my hull immediately above the water line, Iv'e finally determined that what happened was this: The PO in haste must have appiled a hard fiberglass finish in order to protect and add shine to the hull, but apparently he didn't bother to remove the scale that had built up. He must have just glazed right over it. I don't think he was too concerned about cosmetics. Anyway the only thing that Iv'e found that will cut it is a bottle of sealer remover which came with a vertiglass kit. That bottle is now gone, as it takes several treatments to cut thru all this built up sealer, however , it is working. So does anybody out ther know of any readily available product that works to remove fiberglass sealer? This is not wax but probably one of those co-polymer type treatments.

This is a new to me. Obviously there's no contact info on the empty can?
If you can't find a new supply you might consider carefully sanding the hull with 800 grit to get the sealer and lake matter off. Then rubbing, then polishing compounds then wax.
BTW, I have found that FleetWax (liquid) by Collinite is the most effective product for resisting lake matter build-up.
Good luck.

If it's an acrylic type coating, you might be able to get it off with ammonia.

As always, first test in a small inconspicuous place.
