I have a an 86 C25 with fin keel. In the midst of fixing other issues, i stepped on the skylight over the v berth and cause it to crack. i have not found the replacement for it and would like some assist if possible, or other options for that space.

I also have a leak in the aft windows of the cabin and would like to replace those, but again, have not seen them in the manual. Help if you can.

I've often though about installing a small hatch there in it's place if that ever happened to me. I see a white bomar with translucent lens on ebay all the time. This guy runs these all the time, write him and see if he has anymore

If I'm not mistaken, Catalina Direct offers a skylight (translucent) hatch

Dan,
If Catalina Direct does not have the small rectangular plastic piece you are looking for, look in your yellow pages for a local plastic distributor, you could probably find something similar that they could cut to fit.
As far as your leaky windows, if leaking is the only problem, you can easily take them apart and reseal them, rather than replacing them.

Dan, have you got the Catalina 25 "book" from Catalina Direct yet? Best $10 you'll spend on your boat. Has replacement/upgrade parts, repair kits and other useful info.

Bruce, bought the book and do not see replacement windows listed in the parts inventory. I have some cracks in the aft glass and it won't seal correctly, necessitating the replacement. Thanks for the other info. Owned boat since Feb and completing several projects this year. Dan 86

I got the skylight from Catalina Direct--actually got 2--they're cheap. The set includes the inside and outside lenses. However, the outside lense is no stronger than the factory piece, which IMHO is too weak for an area where you're walking, kneeling, and working with anchors. I suggest removing the broken lense, taking it to a plastics shop, and getting a piece of 1/2" Lexan cut to the size, and then the have the top edges beveled (since it'll stick up a little). You'll never, ever break that.

I went to Home Depot, got a sheet of plexiglass, and cut the lenses myself. No big deal.

Thanks for the Ideas! The plexiglass and lexan ideas are great. Probably better than the original!

When I had new tinted windows made for OJ I had a rectangular piece made for the skylight. Installed it with Life Caulk. The glass has been tempered of course and is very strong compared to the original.
