With all due respect to WM, I've never found any cleaner that will successfully remove barnacles. A scraper seems to work best - but DO wear gloves - those little suckers have VERY sharp shells! (No, we don't have barnacles in Canyon Lake - but I crew on a Big Cat on the coast...) Derek
Believe it or not, barnacle glue is the subject of much research. So far, they know it's a protein, although I don't think anyone has been able to make it artificially.
When osmepneo had barnys on her bottom a power was got rid of most of them, I suspect that would work on a prop. Then I scrapped what was left with a putty knife, and finally sanded using a random orbital samder. All that took care of the problem fairly quickly.
