Does anyone know the correct scientific and/or commercial name for the white, not-from-trees stuff that the hatch board is made of?

Thank you in advance.

That is the stuff. I have purchased a sheet from West Marine and used it on projects. Great stuff.

Just remember to use mechanical fasteners to put together whatever you're building. Most adhesives (including 5200) will only seal, not adhere, to Starboard. There are only a couple of adhesives that work, and they're either expensive, need to be professionally applied, or both.

More info can be found at <http://66.96.165.178/main.php?link=glue.htm>

Oscar... I suspect Starboard is essentially polyethylene, but they have apparently done some things to stabilize it against UV. Starboard is the answer for whatever you want to make out of plastic for a boat. It works with woodworking tools, from circular saws to sanders.

When I read Oscar's post, I mentally inserted the comma that I assummed he left out....

I'm sure Oscar doesn't care who made it...

Oscar, et al:

I don't think I was having a bad day, just probably more sensative than most to what unfortunately still exists much too often in this day and age and thus read your original post too literally without translating the typos. I usually just ignore the racially insensative posts which every once in a while appear on this and other forums, but this is such a great forum and I don't think they belong here at all. I deleted my original post once others clarified the typos.

Anyway, thank you for clarifying things and I apologize to you and anyone else for causing such a fuss over the innocent typos.
