Found a great product... with a somewhat ingenious name... FSR (Fiberglass Stain Remover) by Davis.
Amazing. I'd scrubbed the boat with simple green, scrubbing bubbles with bleach and clorox stain remover... still had a dingy brown cast from teak oil and grime and time.
Applied the FSR.. the boat turned brilliant white before my eyes.
The FSR is basically a gellied oxalic acid compound (to stick to vertical surfaces). Wipe or brush it on and wash it off a few minutes later.
One jar (about $10) does the whole boat.

Sounds like the Fiberglass Stain Remover on page 392 of West's catalog. (Their brand, but somebody else made it.) I think I need some! BoatUS has the Davis brand version.

I got mine at our local marine supplier... Englund Marine. I'd imagine West Marine and others have it too.
Yes... West Marine... DAVIS INSTRUMENTS - 004_129_002_509 Their price was $1.50 more than our local supplier..
I really should have stopped and taken some before/after pictures.
Current spouse came out and asked... "What did you do to the boat? It looks like new"
She was impressed as she knew that I'd already tried her favorite household cleaners without success. I think she is eyeing the FSR for cleaning the shower.

I used FSR as well..boat looks good...but it has kind of a DULL finish. Its whiter..but looks dull. Is there something i can use to polish my top side that wont make it slippery??

But if you just polish the cabin bulkhead, coamings, cabin trunk sides, and a few other vertical surfaces (no non-skid), it makes everything look better.

I'm using Zaino, which is a very tough polymer finish to shine things up. I've used it on my cars and found it to be the longest lasting finish I've ever found.
Some folks use Penetrol, Meguiars 'Mirror Glaze' also works well to shine things.
Keep the polish off the places where you need traction.

Starbrite too has an oxalic acid product, I think its called Hull Cleaner (look on the label, if it is oxalic acid, its the right one). It is a liquid and costs the same as FSR, but you get twice the ounces. I have used both with excellent results. You can even dilute it with the same results. I mix in a little boat soap, a little water in a bucket. Wet the surface first, scrub the stuff on with a deck brush (that gets the surface dirt too), wait a couple of minutes, then rinse. Magic.
