I have had my '89WK/TR on a truck scale, and it was 7100# stripped bare. The trailer weighs 1500# by itself, so the boat is 5600#. With the outboard mounted, a typical load of cruising gear, full water tank, etc., I would guess the total trailering weight could approach 8000#. For boats with the inboard diesel, add about 500# more. We have an '89WK/SR diesel in our sailing club that has been weighed on the same truck scale I used, at a little more than 9000#! (This boat has some heavy stuff on board, like two golf cart batteries). I would not tow any kind of trailer in this weight and size range with anything less than a 3/4 ton, full-size (Ford, Dodge, or GM) long-wheel-base pickup, Van, or Suburban. I know someone who was towing his C-25WK diesel with a Dodge Durango, and the couple of times I watched the boat being pulled out (on a 15% launch ramp), I thought the transmission would blow right out of the bottom of the vehicle. This person has since upgraded to a Dodge 1-ton Cummins diesel pickup (sigh of relief).
