I just purchased a 77 C25 SK. I would like for any tips on things to watch for/double check on the early C25. Also, my boat did not come with the manual bilge pump. Any recommendations on pump size needed, location, and installation? Thanks in advance for any help.

Well the problem I have on my 79' swing keel, is that you can't get an electric pump on the starboard side.

The boat had a manual bilge pump, and the previous owner added an electric pump on the port side of the keel (under 1 of the 2 inspection plates).

He ran pvc tubing from the manual bilge pump to both sides, with a valve that would allow one to pump from either side, or both.

So, my electric pump works nicely for the port side, but I have to manually pump the starboard side. I just bought a couple elec. pumps, hoping to add one to the starboard side, but there is no way to get the pump down in the bilge. The previous owner cut a round hole just large enough for his pvc pipe, and I'm not sure I want to cut a larger hole.

My boat doesn't have a manual pump. Is there a pump location that will pump from both sides, or do I need one for each?

The manual pump on my boat is mounted on the port side of the cockpit. It is just forward of the port lazarette/fuel locker. I believe mine is a Gusher 500 or something. It pulls from only 1 hose fixture, but one can do as the previous owner did here.....
utilize a "T" fitting, or a "Y" fitting so that you can pump from both sides. Hose will work, or the 7/8-1" PVC pipe is a nice touch. You can buy it at any Home Depot, etc. On my boat the guy put in a turning valve in the top of the "T" so I can choose to pump from either side, or both sides.
