I've taken my mast down to replace the forestay on our 1980 C25.After looking through the catalina direct web page it seems as though all shrouds and stays should be replaced$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Does anyone have any feelings on replacing just one stay or doing
I have replaced individual mast stays, and had no problems. After installing a new stay, however, you should re-tune your rig after a few outings, because new cable stretches a bit.

Jim: If all standing rigging is the same vintage and you're replacing the forestay because of cracks or meathooks, you should assume that the other stays have deteriorated similarly even if they haven't cracked yet. If you want to spread the boat unit$
I'll vouch for the replacement kit from Catalina Direct, too. The replacements fit perfectly without needing to send in my old ones and the open body turnbuckles are great.
