You might want to look at the Schaefer Lazy Jack system...you don't have to alter your sailcover to use it and it is retractable also and might be a little less expensive?
Just a thought... I question whether a main as small as that found on a 25' boat is really the target market of the inventors of lazy jacks. Of course the marketers have driven the product into opportunistic markets to improve their ROI. Personally I have always simply opened my companionway and let the sail drop and be held by that which falls into the cabin. But, is there an opportunity to integrate our toping lift and a single bungee to the boom vang bale to create a leeward lazy jack of sorts that would cost only a couple of dollars an serve the purpose of cradling the sail until it is convenient to flake it for storage? Loosening the TL to improve the shape of this rig could work if a person had a boomkin. Is there a bungee wizard in the group?
I do love bungee... and have been known to spout that off many times in the past.... but I've also chosen to keep things simpler... and do sail management from on top of the cabin top. That does not mean however that I enjoy going forward with sail ties clenched in teeth and unable to communicate. So, installed is ... you guessed it... bungee (I love bungee!) to the port side of the boom to provide self storing sail ties. They work great.
I also used the Schaefer system-@ $209.00 from West Marine. Mainly for the storing ability and not having to alter the sail cover. The only problem I had was that the eye straps that they supplied caused the line to bind. I have replaced them with 3 full circle type eye straps RF1058 #120733 from West Marine @ $4.99 ea. (pg 897 of catalog). One for each side of boom and one on bottom of boom. They work great and so does the Lazy Jack.
Does the Schaefer system retract out of the way when the main's up, also? That's what I liked about the E-Z Jax, it's always stowed--underway or in the slip--until you deploy it.

yes the Schaefer can retract back to a hook that is supplied with system and mounted at the aft end of the boom. I keep my stowed while in the slip, and ties around the sail/boom. Before getting underway I let it out and undo the ties, makes for an easy raising of sail. It stays open until I drop sail, retie, and then stow it again so the sail cover can go back on without any problem.
I use the Ezjax system on my 250 and I like them. I had my own design on my Islander 28 and I had a Dutchman system on my H35.5. The Dutchman system was fine in the beginning but the cat gut on which the sails would slide would cut the sails when they got dirty. The plastic eyes that were in the sails would not stand up under the bay winds. Finally, I designed my own deployable system that was very similar to the ezyjax system and it worked fine. I have had an ezyjax system on my C250 and they are fantastic.
