A big thanks to Buzz and everyone who gave advice on the mast raising and lowering A-Frame system. After an exceptional final sail I won't soon forget, I used my new A-frame to lower the mast for the first time ever. With a co-worker standing off the starboard beam with 911 on speed dial, I began lowering the mast with great trepidation. About 30 seconds later the mast eased gently into my homemade 8-foot mast support in the back of the cockpit. Slick! I hope raising the mast is as easy.
I look forward to trying this system also. Glad to hear it works.
I am just walking out the door to go pick up our new swing keel. We go to the yard next Tuesday to begin the conversion. Good luck with your project. Perhaps we could keep in touch and compare notes.
Sounds great Chris. I'd love to compare notes. The guy doing our conversion said he expected it to take about a month. I assuming that's because he has more than just my project to do at one time. My main concern is that he doesn't hose me on the installation cost when it's all said and done.
Are you having your installer adjust your trailer? Email me offline if you like. bshremshock@shremshock.com
