If you were the skipper, crew or witness to an on the water lightning encounter involving any kind of boat, either occupied or not, your participation in this survey would be greatly appreciated. There are ten short questions and it should only take a moment.

An encounter is either a hit or near miss. A near miss is described as a hit close enough that the flash and thunder clap appeared to be simultaneous.

Ultimately, its hoped that the data collected will allow a clearer perspective about several issues regarding the nature of these occurrences.

Arlyn, I'm in the process of completing the survey. I know of one incident of lightening hitting a boat, and will respond with that information.

I would love to reply to this survey but how do I put it into an E mail. I have first hand experiance having been hit once and one near miss on a boat. We wont count the number of times on an aircraft.

Arlyn,

I don't have any experience with lightening (yet), but hope you will share the results of your survey with the forum.

Thanks!

Tony... I will. I've been working on a project now for several weeks and will post the results of the survey in that offering. It is in the refinement stage.
