Thanks! <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote"> I believe the Harken site has a good diagram and a complete kit in their clearence area.
The reefing system on my 1979 C-25 standard rig is based on the same concept as the small Harken single line reefing kit, but without the adjustable clew position. The topping lift, downhaul (.a.k.a. cunningham), vang, both reefing lines, and the main halyard are all lead aft to camcleats and clutches on the stbd. side.
One variable to keep in mind is friction. I use 1/4" doublebraid, ballbearing blocks, and a SS lined fairlead on the mast. The second reef tack is also a ballbearing block attached to a cunningham hook. (That also solves the crossover puzzle.)
Another key is the placement of the reefed clew turning blocks, which is why they're adjustable in the Harken kit. I assembled everything else before deciding on final placement of those. Even then, I think I remember having to move one of them an inch or two to get the angle of the reefed clew just right.
Having read the well reasoned criticisms against single line reefing, I didn't have high expectations. Since installing them, I've had to use both first and second reef many times in open water conditions. It works quite well for me.
