OK, someone mentioned that they were going to install a solar powered hatch ventilator in the forward hatch on their Catalina. Does anyone have a source for those? Are they water tight so they can be left in while we have to be at the office and not wor

Page 461 in the WM catalogue has several vents including the Nicro solar/battery unit that I have had for 10+ years. I'd be cautious when installing one on the forward hatch. The incline of the hatch might compromise the watertightness of the vent. I h

I sailed/raced on a boat for 4 years with a solar/vent on the forward hatch in front of the mast. She sailed pretty dry, but we would remove the vent when sailing in heavy weather( green water over the deck). Never heard the owner complain about leaks fr

I own a C250, but would also like to install a vent - probably on the hatch. My concern is that on the 250 you need to stand on the hatch when anchor handling. Also the jib sheets are in this area. Does the vent profile tend to catch things (including

Although I too have been looking at solar vents, could someone tell me if they have the after market Lewmar opening hatches and if there is a way to compare air exchange rates for either system? I would rather not put another hole in the boat and add anot
