I have a slow leak around the depth through hull under the V-birth. Right now it is leaking salt water.
What type of sealer should I use to make it stop instantly and that can be used when the surface is wet?

Hi Gary,

Congratulations on your new wing keel ... she is a beauty!

When I launched my boat I had a similar leak ... I had removed the speed impeller to work on it, and I didn't tighten it enough before I put the boat in the water. Seeing that water leaking into the bilge really got my attention ... I feel your pain! In fact, even now when I drive up to the marina and see my boat is still floating, I breathe a sigh of relief.

Anyway, I glopped almost a whole tube of 3M 4200 around the leak ... that stopped it. It isn't pretty, but I figured it would be OK until I could pull the boat out of the water and come up with a better fix. So far so good ... I might just leave it alone.

'Hope that helps ... enjoy your new boat!

I think 3M 101 should do the trick... water makes it cure.
The retaining nut is nice and snug... yes?

For a proper repair you probably want to pull the thru-hull and re-bed it. Perhaps you can get that spot out of the water by heeling her at the dock... or (probably just as easy) by putting her on the trailer for few minutes in the boat ramp parking lot.

Thanks, guys. Heading down right now after work and staying over night so will either fix it or sink with it
I've had the same visions of the boat on the bottom already....not a happy thought. Slow enough leak, though, so I should be okay.
