Is the Sail Ameerica's Atlantic City's Sail Expo worth a 7 hour one way drive? Since our boat is on the hard now and I will have exhausted my Xmas library additions by then, I am wondering if the trip is worth the drive. I see that have a lot of seminars with some names I even reconize. Anyone been there /done that - thanks

Hi Frank

I was at the expo last year, it certailnly breaks up the winter blues. Plenty of boats are available for viewing, as well as a lot of gear.

I did however go to the recent show at liberty island, and found the in water show a little better.

Does any one have the show's web site yet? Almost went last year but Northeast weather didn't allow a 300 mile drive to Atlantic City and back with any confidence of cruising both ways at 70mph. "Bear" on the hard in upstate N.Y. German-American buffet in 7 hours and 35 minutes. Happy Thanksgiving to all and especially our military forces.

Frank,

I have been a couple of times, and would love to go again this year, but we leave for vacation the 18th, right after the show, so I don't think it works for me this year. I have felt it worth it if no other reason to climb on boats in the middle of winter, and meet some of the folks at the Catalina display. You can only look, can't buy boats , however!

I live about an hour and a half from Atlantic City and regularly attend the Sail Expo. It has significantly deteriorated in the past few years. It is no longer hels at the old convention center on the boardwalk and there are fewer exhibitors each year. I have decided not to go again.
