After having my engine tuned so it will idle without dying (sometimes), it does an interesting thing. It runs fast, then slows down to the point to that you think it is going to die, then speeds back up. Its a little bothersome because you are always thin

You are correct, it is a Volvo Penta 2 cyl gas, single carb (about 20 years old). It has been extremely tuff to get an idle, or to down shift to neutral without stalling. It is an inboard which makes it a little tuffer to work with. Reall

I have a Volvo/Penta 140 outboard that had similar problems. It is however, very difficult to get parts. Mine was cutting out intermitently. I took it to a service center who specializes in outboards and after spending 200. and receiving a

Hi there

The unit was made by volvo with their own saildrive but it used a honda power head. I think it was a 7.5 hp? Parts are available from volvo, Let me know if you need a parts list
