For those who inquired after seeing my boat for sale on the forum....
I am going to be keeping my boat. Water predictions are more favorable, however I have also purchased a trailer and if the worse comes to pass, I will be trailer-sailing for the next couple of years.
One bad note, money spent on the trailer was set aside to attend the Nationals in July. We won't be able to make it this year...but look out in '05! Unless, I can convince my wife that Boot Camp is a viable alternative to our kids going to college, then I can get at those funds! Guess not.
We might sneak in a cruise somewhere with our club this summer if it's not too much $$$.
I appreciate everyone who has shown concern. I sure did not want to part with my boat.
My nephew is driving to Ruidoso today to do some snow skiing. He has heard that the snow base this year is the best they've had in years ... 'hope most of that melted snow ends up in your reservoir!
'Anyway, 'glad you're keeping your boat ... we'll keep our fingers crossed for you.
Patrick, you're still more than welcome to attend the San Diego - Catalina cruise. We'll be leaving Aug. 2 and returning Aug. 20 (this gives you a weekend to trailer on both ends). Other than your cross country haul, the entire trip should cost you around $250 (depending on how often you eat out and if you take a mooring or anchor).
Please do have her take it off. I had three offers on my boat all at $10,000.00 (I think they all came of Catalina Owner's.com. I am so glad I didn't take them!
Patrick, glad you're going to be keeping your c25 and worked out a reasonable solution to keep her wet during the season. Now your horizons are broader as you can go anywhere!
Maybe someday I'll make it up your way. Truth be known, although I claim New Mexico as my home state (been here since I was 10) I was born in Cortland, NY. My dad still lives up there in Esperance. I keep thinking a trip to the finger lakes would be nice. Long tow, though.
Esperance is about 10 miles from our Schenectady home. Visit Dad during the summer, and I'll bet we can arrange some sailing on the Great Sacandaga Lake!
Esperance? That wouldn't be the little town that I had to always stop at to visit a cheese store on the main drag? We would always stop on the way to and from Albany and visiting the relatives...I can't think of the name of the place, probably something catchy like Esperance Cheese House I'm an ex up-stater!
I know think it was Eastmans Cheese House...why do we remember these type of facts but can't remember what I had for dinner last night?

At least you remember having dinner...sometimes I don't.....
Kirk, My daily test to see if I'm staying ahead of encroaching senility is trying to remember last night's dinner. Seems those that I prepare I remember most handily...
