I was just looking at Catalina's site and noticed that for head room it notes 5'7" Pop-Top Down and 7'1" Pop-Top Up. I am new to boating and was wondering exactly what this means.

Catalina's site is obviously showing the specs. for a new Catalina 250. The term "pop top" means something just a bit different on the C250 v. the C25.

On the C250, a portion of the deck over the cabin/companionway is hinged on its forward side. You

The picture is great. While I have you here, I'm about 6' tall, is the 5'7" headroom annoying or do you find that when you're in the cabin for any length of time you're sitting? Also, I'm curious, how much a new 250 costs with a wheel

Doug, that photo looks a lot like Percival Landing in Olympia. I think it's that particular shade of grey the sky has <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>.

Percival Landing is one of our favorite stops. They keep telling thats a blue sky!

In Texas that would indicate a "blue norther" coming in - a VERY blustery cold front. (Ah well, it's 70 degrees today with bright blue sky...) Tomorrow I'll be in the Caribbean so why worry about fronts!
