Hello everyone! My name is Ron. New to the forum but a long time "reader". A few days back someone commented on replacing their skylight and said he purchased a kit from Catalina Direct. I called and they said, "not from us". I could certainly buy a piece of material but being a couple of hours away from my boat, it would be easier to have everything ready to go to pop it out, clean it up and put it in. So my question is, could it have been someone other than Catalina Direct? BTW, sure have enjoyed the exchanges over the years -- very helpful.

There was a C25 at our marina that had to replace the original "skylight."
The owner had an auto glass store cut one to size, edges beveled, then tempered. It was smoked glass, was about 1/16" higher than the cabin top, matched the smoked cabin windows. Finished result looked very nice and is much more durable than the original.
OJ has the right idea... That's what I'd do now, although Lexan would do just fine (and would resist cracking when an anchor taps it).
Incidentally, that was me, and it definitely was Catalina Direct, although I don't see in their C-25 Owners Handbook any more. Probably too cheap to worry about. It was so cheap, I bought two... I'd offer the other one to you, but I'd rather see you do it with a better material.
