Has anyone got information on the rating for a fresh water Catalina25 swing keel standard boat flying main and jib only? I have a 1978 S/K,standard mast, hull# 711.

Common PHRF ratings for the C25 are Standard rig 228 and Tall 222.

It SO depends upon what part of the country you are in. PHRF-NW rated my SR JAM at 258, with racing 'chute at 238. But before some of you guys get all excited, the numbers for other boats are higher out here, too. It really is not the number, but the number "relative" to other boats. A Cal 20 rates 297, for instance.....hardly anybody beats them.......'course a couple of former Olympians race them out here in Oregon.......

I suggest you contact your local PHRF organization; they would probably know....

Gary is quite correct (as usual! ). The N-W consistently rates boats about 10% higher than the rest of the country. According to the PHRF Handbook (updated annually)the commonest numbers for the C25's are TR 222 and SR 228. Now, the C250 is a totally different kettle of fish, and a handicapper's nightmare!
