Hi All,
I am so ready to splash. We went to the lake Sunday evening and I made a quick lead line out of the cowboys (youngest son 4 on friday) lariet and a bucket with bricks and found the depth at the end of our slip to be just bellow my chin. I'd guess right around 5 feet. The water level should fluctuate a little on the way up. My question is
would you splash with this depth?

My boat is a fin keel, and I would definitely splash in 5 feet of water. Just keep your speed down until you get into deeper water.

I agree with Steve. If the ice were out and the docks in, I'd be ready to splash!

You didn't say what type of trailer you have. If you have a roller trailer, the boat should launch easily in 5' of water. If you have a bunk trailer, it might be a close question as to whether the boat would float off the trailer.

If your hull doesn't leak and your lights work then do it! I only had 4' last fall and never had a problem.

My trailer has bunks, I think the water at the launch ramp is plenty deep. I think I'll give it a go later in the week or start of next week. Unfortunatly we have to go to Tahoe during spring break for a wedding. I'd rather be sailing. I know I should take the boat there, but time wise it wouldn't work.
