On tuesday the local snow ski club is going to have a social and meeting at our sailing club. Guests are invited. As most of you know, snow skiing attracts lots of lovely ladies.
So being the semi young virile single male that I am I plan on representing the sailing community, and in particular our Catalina 25 association well by wearing my C25 T shirt to the function.
I hope that shirt is a babe magnet.
I'm sure that the female members of our association probably think I'm a sexist pig, but heck, don't you women like to be pursued?
I can hear the can of worms opening now (or is it a can of whup-ass?)
Hey I've been on the National Ski Patrol for a number of years and this season we were all lamenting the dirth of "snow Bunnies" in recent years. Actually they are all still out there they are just the same age as we are 55+. The young women I rescue are usually good athletes and most of them snow board. I don't see the numbers of pretty single women I used to see. Mostly I see or help pretty young mothers with several kids on snowboards. Good luck with all the ski babes. Maybe you can get someone to take you up for a little moonlight sail.
Hey John, I used to teach skiing at Jackson Hole. Now I'm 53. The ski clubs in metropolitan areas in the south are "social clubs" in addition to ski clubs. Most of the participants really don't ski much, if at all, so that makes a difference in the demographic.
I ski primarily in Ohio, New York, and Michigan with the trip west about every other year. I work at Snow Trails which is a feeder resort. people come here to learn to ski or condition for that trip west. Most of our ski clubs are formed through schools with a few employee clubs. They are formed primarily to get the group discount. Several are racing clubs like the Columbus Ski Club or the OSU ski club. My daughter Grace when not crewing for me is a USSA ski racer. There must be skiing in the smokies?
BTW I spent 10 days skiing Jackson Hole at Christmas 1972, had a ball but it was very cold.
I have been to snow trails. It's been a few years though.
I took my first lessons at the OSU golf course. The instructors set up a tow rope on a small hill. It was cool.
In 1975 my uncle treated my mom, brother and I to a trip to Aspen CO. Wow was it ever beautiful there. We would ski down to the Chalet around 3:45 to see all the skiers having a Coors and heading for the heated outdoor pools.
Hey Frank. Good luck on the girl hunt. If the Catalina shirt doesn't work, try a DONZI.
Be sure to tell them about the NANSA (North American Nude Sailing Association) LOL :) That will get your foot in the door. That way you don't have to worry about what shirt your going to ware or pants or .......
I'd like to think the C-25 is a magnet... Not sure I'm ready to attract babes yet--or that they'll ever be ready. My challenge this year be just attracting crew! Maybe I should get one of those shirts. As they say on the NY Lottery commercials, "Hey, ya never know!"
We went to Tajhoe last week end. Not for sailing, but the admrials sisters wedding. The weather looked a little rough for sailing but the skiers were out. If you want a babe magnet rent a 4 year old kid from a friend or relative and set them up as a cowboy. I had the kids in tow most of the time while my wife was doing stuff with her family. Our youngest has been horse crazy since he could point and say horse. He is on his second pair of cowboy boots, worn out not out grown. He was in his wranglers, boots and cowboy hat the whole time, goes to bed in his boots too. Everywhere we went the female population was entranced. As we walked past bars and gambling tables women were calling my four year old to come see them. Frank it will work better than any t-shirt or puppy.

Now that's a new twist to the bait and switch method. Problem is, the babe that would follow the donzi shirt probably wouldn't know the difference
I teach at a small ski hill in the Pocono's (good learning hill for kids) Babes there wouldn't know what a Donzi OR a C25 was if it hit them in the head.....
