Dewwey the easiest would be to just go to west marine they sell parts for the aqua signal lights and may have the lens on the shelf. Catalina may have changed over the years but on my 95 they used the aqua signal series 25 classic anchor light. Keith

You may not want to go to this sort of trouble, but I built my own anchor light. It uses 30 white LEDs and ten 47 ohm resistors; 10 sets of 3 LEDs and one resistor wired in series are wired in parallel. I used a 3" PVC pipe cap as the housing. The 3/32" hole pattern is drilled every 12 degrees; with each LED covering 20 degrees this gives good radial overlap. It's quite bright and draws less than half an amp. The materials cost me about $25, but I got a heckuva deal on the LEDs. Similar lights in WM's catalog go for $200+. Well worth a few hours of my time.

Dewwey,

Welcome to the 25/250 family! I just lost the 'cannon plug' connector for my mast lighting where it conncects to the deck plug. It blew off somewhere on the road while transporting the boat. I called Catalina themselves after getting a lot of 'I'm not sures' and 'I don't knows' from Catalina Direct. Catalina sent me both parts of the connector for $10 plus shipping. It was here in three days. Pretty fair, I thought.

Waterboy,

Nice mast ornament!

So where did you get this good deal on LEDs? I'd like to
have a handful to experiment with too.

Thanks Max!

In the process of trying to get my recently acquired 10 year-old C250WB ready for a summer of trailer cruising, I've been availing myself of all the web info I can regarding fixin' up boats such as this. While surfing, I ran across:

http://www.sailingsmall.com/

where at the end the author (who appears to have done a truly admirable job of restoring and older Mac 22) offers that he has some LEDs yet for sale ... so I took him up on it. Apparently he found them via eBay from China, and purchased a lot of 200.

Unfourtunately (for all of us) I got the last he's willing to part with. I've been trying to find another inexpensive source for white LEDs (red, green, and yellow are easy to find) and have thusfar come up short. If folks are interested, I'd be happy to split a large lot with others ... I figure I could use up to 100 more (les'see here ... around 15 for the masthead running light, 6 per for red, green, and stern white, 3-6 each for the stock interior lights, etc.).

We'll see whether my efforts were worth it ... I suppose they could fail prematurely or reveal design/construction flaws on my part. But hey ... I'm having fun doing this while the First Mate tries to wrap up business affairs prior to our departure.

I have yet to figure out how to get the thing mounted. I'm thinking of some kind of adaptor plate atop the base for the old anchor light.

Now ... what to do about these deck fittings for the head pumpout and bow water tank?

Yours, Greg
