I'm a fan of Cetol for the teak on my boat. I recently sanded the old poly finish from my tiller, and applied 3 coats of Cetol, using a nylon scrubby for a light rubdown between coats. It looked great, and felt completely dry (1 day between each coat). I then applied a top coat of Cetol Gloss. After several days for drying, the finish has a slight sticky or tacky feel. Augmenting drying with an electric space heater didn't help. Has anyone else had this problem? What's the fix? Regards, Dan McFadden on "Deo Gratias"
As a somewhat recent convert to Cetol, I've found that Cetol seems to take several weeks to really harden fully (where you can't indent it at all with a fingernail). Thus I had to be careful about banging something hard (e.g. metal block) on the new finish until it fully hardened. I don't know if this is what you are talking about. On mine, all tackiness was gone after about a day of drying.
