You do not mention what configuration you have. A wing or fin need to have the majority of their weight on their keel, The bunks take the rest and keep the boat upright. A swing keel needs to take all of the weight on the hull while your keel is up for launch and retrieve. (of course you lower your keel when the boat is at rest on the trailer.) Therefore the bunk placement and bunk area can vary. Make sure you give good thought to the keel pad area and the clear path to the area. You should be able to figure out a place to start from this information.

The boat is a Catalina 25 swing keel model. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote"> I believe a wing is only 2" deeper than a swing when it is in the up position. Others on the site have changed over from a swing to a wing and found the bunk height to be pretty much the same. That probably speaks to the keel dropping a couple of inches once on the trailer. Good luck, a lot of us use rollers. http://homepage.mac.com/fhopper/PhotoAlbum24.html
Simply stated, when I retrieve my boat the aft end of the swing keel is about 4" above the keel channel (with the keel 100% retracted.) TrailRite also changed the design of their trailers around the mid 80s which lowered the lowered the hull position.
As far as where the hull should be positioned fore and aft - you may already know that tongue weight should be 10% of the weight of the boat and trailer.
