This weekend Jacksonville will host some Tall Ships at downtown.
Here is a link if anyone is interested.

I am going for sure. They have a parade of sail on Fri around noon. All boaters are invited. Do you want to get the Jax FLEET?? together and show the colors? A lot of people will be off on Fri for the memorial. After the parade we could race to the buckman or something.

Ben,

Thank you for the information. I am actually not working Friday. Anywhere particular in the downtown area? I have yet to become familiar with the Jacksonville area. I am however, working on that!

Many thanks,
AW

I'm not sure exactly where they are going to berth the ships. But I have seen some tall ones at the Jacksonville Landing which is the North Bank by the Main St. Bridge. (the bridge actually has a name but everyone calls it the Main St. B.) I am thinking about gunkholing behind Exchange Is. on the south side of the Mathews Bridge by the Arlington River on Friday night. Then in the morning going to the Metro Marina which is free to the public and taking a slip and walking the North Bank.
Not sure I can take all Friday off.

Ben, That sounds like a great idea. I have the crew lined up and am looking to go to the gunkhole area around 2pm. I will be leaving from Nas marina. We have the grill, sunscreen, and cooler ready! Can you stay in the Metro marina after dark? Ie if the weather gets ugly.

Tom.
