Hi everyone, can anyone tell me where I might find the piece of trim that goes around the cutout in the transom where the tiller goes thru? I am talking about the rubber piece around the outside of this cutout. I think this is the factory setup. Mine is cracked and degrading quite bad. My other thought is to trim this out with a piece of teak, but that is one more piece of teak to Cetol every year. Thanks!
IMHO folllows: They are a very thin rather 'cheesy' piece of plastic and I have a feeling it won't be long until it starts to degrade like the original. This is a spot where you just might as well make your own trim pieces out of teak.
We purchased one from Catalina Direct 2 years ago. It doesn't even come close to fitting. So, it's still in my garage. One day, I'll make my own with Starboard, etc.
You might get one from CD, as maybe it was designed for a different year than mine. I have a 1979 SK TR.
I removed mine, filled the screw holes, and smoothed out a few areas--it looks a lot better than the trim on the other three C-25s in my club. Some day, if I have nothing better to do, I'll dress it up with something. Others have reported here that they had to modify the piece from CD.
Lloyd, that looks great! You have inspired me. Thanks for all the help guys, I guess I will not order one from CD then. For now, I'll will just remove the ratty looking thing, and make up a teak piece in the winter. Thanks!!
