I bought the plans at www.compumarine.com but their website has been down this weekend. Go there when it's p to see dozens of beautiful boats and plans. <blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"><i>Originally posted by OJ</i> <br />Steven,
I know of cedar strip canoes but not dinks. What are some of the specs? Great job. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">
Beautiful boat! My son and I just started a sailing dingy for him to have as his own 'command.' We're taking an easier route, though using marine plywood/fiberglass. It's not so much a 'tender' for our 250 as a learning platform for him. It will have an electric trolling motor, daggerboard and cat-rigged sail when we get done. It's starting to take shape. . .
I'll post some final photos when she's done. Hopefully a few weeks from now!
Those are beautiful dinghy projects, particularly the strip planked one. I look forward to seeing more pictures of them, and hearing the details of how they perform. What models are they?

Your tender has turned out really beautiful! The last time I saw it you hadn't finished the inside. Very nice job. You have inspired me to get busy and finish mine. (Marge say "I hope!")
Did I see Phil's C25 at Skaug Brothers on Saturday? Looked like the name was Coconuts.
Yeah, they had a stereo installed in it this weekend. I think they will launch this week. I still want to come and see how your yacht tender is coming along.
Steve, Tony and Phil? I am lurking! (Sounds to me like we have 3 E. Washington guys here). I am hoping you'll bring the dinks (Steve, yours is GORGEOUS!) with you when you come over to Portland for the National Regatta/Rendezvous. Coming? I sure hope so.....you can join the FUN FLEET if you really don't want to race, but our racing won' overwhelm you, either. Sure would like to hear from you guys! What would it take to get you to join us? We are expecting around twenty boats, but would sure rather have 30!
While I didn't built mine (and don't know who did or what model it is), I've done quite a bit of work on her. Currently, there's some delamination of the fiberglass on the seats that need attention, plus new bottom paint, varnish touch-ups, etc.
It only has one leeboard, and it seems to point a bit better when it's on the windward side (i.e. not as deep). I think a centerboard would probably work better, though.
