Where do you find the hull # on an '82 Cat 25?

Very faintly etched just below the hull-deck joint on the port transom... If one is present, I think the the hull number should also be on the brass plate inside the transom.

It's on the starboard side, not port.

In addition to being etched on the starboard side of the transom just below the deck to hull joint, the Hull Identification Number should also show up on the title or the Manufactures Statement of Origin.

The full HIN is on the starboard side of the transom...the manufacturer's data plate (on my former boat) contains the word Catalina and the boat # (sail #). The title incorrectly contains the only the sail #.

I have both the plate inside the cockpit and the etched on the top of the starboard side (also on mthe title for the boat). Plates can be removed, so the official spot for the HIN is the one on the hull.

It may be the same as the number on your mainsail. Mine is.

FYI...the starboard stern under the hull to deck joint location is law.....it's there on every boat. Don't know how far back.

That's the exact spot where my marina chooses to apply their vinyl yearly marina permits.
