This was my first time to use Sailkote and the difference is almost unbelievable. I was using a downhaul on my mainsail last year. Now, I release the halyard and if I let it, it will fall like a rock onto the boom. So I went ahead and sprayed everything that moves with the stuff. The Admiral didn't appreciate it very much when the sliding hatch cover almost went out from under her. I mean this stuff is SLICK! Steve and Connie on Wazapan #3096.
Been using the stuff for years and you are correct it is good stuff for everything that requires lubrication. It is also great for coating your sail and hatch covers. Water just sheets off after using, like Rain-X on windshields. The best thing is bird droppings just wash off with water, no scrubbung required.
I gave a double coat to the mast slugs as I fed them into the mast slot before putting the mast plates in. Then I just reached as high as I could standing on deck and got the bottom few feet of the slot. That's all it took.
I don't think I said anything about the deck. I said sail and hatch covers i.e. canvas. I only use it on the deck when someone is coming aboard I may not want to see. The same as using Pledge on my barracks room floor before inspection. After the first time, they would just stick there head in, look around, and then go to the next person's room.
