They were scattered all over the campground at Little Harbor, with my daughter nervously smiling in the forground and my boat anchored in the background.
The campground ranger took the second picture. He said they are no problem as long as you don't do something stupid like throw rocks or go after one of the calves. I think they like the campground because they can find greener grass.
A few years ago they put up a big fence high up on a ridge to keep them away from the West End (and Two Harbors). I heard they had some situations with folks returning at night from too many Buffalo Milks at the Harbor Reef Saloon and literally bumping into the animals grazing along the road to Cat Harbor.
We have four or five tourists gored by Buffalo every year. I think that two were killed last year at Custer State Park. I don't know what kind of campgroud Rangers you have. BUFFALO are wild animals.
Those buffalo are friendly...descendants of old movie stars (although they may get p.o.'d if someone tells them that several get sold to the meat company each year).
Now these guys -- I'll <b>never</b> turn my back on them!
