I haven't been to the RMI for many years -- back then it was overrated and overpriced (despite being bought champagne one night by Bill Veeck). I know of other places with better crabcakes (Angelina's has the best in Baltimore -- they ship them all over the world). But much closer just across the Bay is Harris' Crab House at Kent Narrows. Basic, on the water, and awesome.
In Annapolis I would especially recommend Cafe Normandie and Middleton Tavern. The seafood place upstairs on the corner -- Buddy's? -- is pretty good. But those are the places that will be packed.
i'l l be there on friday. i want to go to consignment sale first. you set a time and give me a place and would be glad to meet all of you. lunch or dinner, whatr ever. always look forward to discuss catalina 25's with other owners. be alittle discriptive on where to meet. i am from out of town. dave holtgrave 5722 sk/tr sailing carlyle lake in southern illinois
Year before last we were looking to do the Chesapeake and mentioned it on site and were given some great advice. Brooke steered us away from our intended spot( Ocean City) I think was where we were headed and Dave recommended the RMI and their crab cakes. Both guys were right on. And now comes the boat show and Brooke came up with a bunch of places to dine in and if things go well here we might just try a few. Thanks
ok who lives in the annapolis area that is going to organize this gathering? i think it would be great to gather and meet other 25 owners and be able to put a face with a name. we have all learned alot from each other. now, let's come out of the closet. the organizer should pick a place to meet, maybe after the show on friday and set a time. let the door people know or we can make a table sign for catalina 25 and we can respond by email. if you show fine if not fine to.
lets get together. it's going to be a long winter. dave holtgrave 5722 sk/tr sailing carlyle lake in southern illinois. if a second suggestion might be to meet at a catalina display at a certian time and decide from there. i will only be there on friday.
Dave, I think meeting at the Catalina display at a cetain time is a great idea. I don't care what we do...just wanted to meet some others from the board. I plan to go Friday as well. Anyone else able to make it Friday? We could grab a cold beer and shoot the breeze for a while.
I was wrong. I can't be there Friday. Maybe Monday if I can move another appointment. You guys hoist a few for me (especially since I don't drink beer)!
it is offical by bubba anyone interested in getting together meet at the catalina dealers booth on friday oct 8 at 3:00pm. nate and bubba, i will talk to one of the sales people for the dealer make it obvious for us to meet. see you there dave holtgrave 5722sk/tr sailing carlyle lake in southern illinois.

I'll vote for Robert Morris--not on price, but on yumminess, by a substantial margin. (But it's been 4-5 years now.)
It could be worse. At least Navy is not playing this week & the weather is supposed to be great.
To all: Unless you already have a secret & guaranteed place to park, don't forget about the shuttle buses to get downtown. You could waste the whole day looking for a space.
While it costs $20, parking in the school playground just across the bridge in Eastport is close, easy in and out, and the money goes to a good cause! And you get to stop at the Tiffanys of marine supply stores...Fawcetts! Willy
