I'm sure this has been asked and answered before so if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. I have a 1983 C25. Would like to install anchor light atop mast. Would also like to install new combo deck/masthead light. Could use info on wiring, difficulty of installation, panel wiring, etc. I'ts going to be a long winter so I might as well start now.
I believe Catalina sells an anchor light pedestal that bolts to the masthead - and accepts the Aqua-Signal brand anchor light. Aqua-Signal also makes a nice steaming/deck light combo. I installed a PVC conduit inside my mast (yours may already have one.) Wiring for boat lights is pretty straight forward. Good luck!
The "standard" exterior lighting fixture used on the newer trailerable Catalinas of all sizes is the Aqua Signal Series 25. You can buy these almost anywhere that sells boat parts, including Sailnet and West Marine. As OJ says in the previous post, you can get a pedestal base for the masthead anchor light from Catalina Direct that is specifically for mounting an Aqua Signal 25 anchor light on the Catalina 25 masthead casting.
Welcome to the club. Get in touch with Catalina Direct, I believe the address is www.catalinadirect.com help me out guys if I have it wrong. Just do a Google search on Catalina direct and you will find it. Good luck with your project. There are lots of sailors here who are very helpful
Catalina direct also sells a wiring harness #D2087 for $49.95. They also sell an owner's handbook (where this information came from) that is a great resource for parts and upgrades. Their phone number is 800-959-7245. Good luck!
