Bryan Beamer, Quartermaster, tendered his resignation last evening. His resignation is effective immediately.

Please join me in enthusiastically thanking Bryan for his service to the Association. Bryan has put in many long hours and has assumed a good deal of personal expense in updating the Association's Ship Store product offering. His contributions (and joke emails) will be sorely missed.

Also, please be informed that the Ships Store is temporarily unable to accept and fulfill orders at this time. The Officers are currently working on several options for covering the Quartermaster's responsiblities and for reopening the Ships Store as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you would like to volunteer for the Quartermaster's post, please notify me or another Officer of your interest!

Fair winds, Bryan. It has been my extreme pleasure working with you this past year.

I just spoke to Lowell at Catalina Direct. He has just signed an agreement to host the Catalina 22 Store. They have a new e-commerce store on their website and people will be able to buy 24-7. Please discuss among the officers and call him. I would be far more likely to buy something from their website than from the existing quartermaster set up we have had.

Thanks Bryan! You've done a lot to spruce up the store offerings & as soon as the store reopens I plan to start my Christmas shopping.

Frank,

Excellent suggestion about Catalina Direct. I just hope they are willing to support C-250's more than they seem to at present.

Bryan: Thanks for your service and updating the Ship's Store. The merchandise I ordered and received was first class, as was you effort. All the best, Dan #727

Please notify me whenever the Ship's Store is "reopened." What is involved in operating the Ship's Store? What are the duties and responsibilities of the Quartermaster?

Notification of the Ships Store will definitely be posted as soon as possible. As a matter of fact, we've found a volunteer that is willing to accept the post of Quartermaster. So, we will be transferring the merchandise and requisite knowledge shortly. Hopefully, the Ships Store will be back online by the first week of November.

Regarding the Quartermaster's duties, they are: 1) establish and maintain relationships with vendors, provide storage facilities for stock merchandise, order and manage stock and custom items, process and ship member orders, and provide a quarterly inventory reconciliation to the Treasurer.

Thanks for your interest!

Three cheers for the brave soul who picked this up!

I'd hate going out in the spring without the proper attire.

Your Association Officers are pleased to announce that Bob and Hope Sirekis of s/v ManaPhin ('83 SR/FK #3551) have volunteered, and been duly appointed by the Officers, for the post of Quartermaster. Bob and Hope run a successful eBay store and will be bringing very welcome ideas and expertise to enhance the benefits provided by this critical Staff position. The process of knowledge and inventory transfer is currently underway, and we all hope to have the Ships Store back online shortly.

Thank you to Bob and Hope for enthusiastically volunteering their services, and thank you to the members for your understanding and patience as we've gone through this process.

Warmest regards,

Thanks for all of the thanks

Hope and I look forward to giving something back to the organization.
Once all of the Logistics are wrapped up we will get the store re-opened and start cranking out the orders.

Thanks for all the support now and in the future.

The Ships Store is now reopened, but as you may have guessed by now things haven't exactly gone as planned. I apologize for having overcommitted and for inappropriately setting your expectations regarding the timeframe in which the store would be reopened and the pending enhancements completed.

Please be aware of the following short-term issues:

1) Embroidered items cannot be delivered before New Year's due to logistical issues concerning vendors at this late date.

2) The price of each embroidered item has been increased temporarily by $1.50 in order to cover additional shipping and handling charges associated with the current vendor, but this surcharge should be eliminated sometime shortly after the new year.

3) Delivery of embroidered goods may take longer than in the past.

Enhancements to the Ships Store that are currently being addressed include higher quality merchandise, lower prices, PayPal online payment capabilities, and a shopping cart function.

On behalf of the Officers and Staff of the Catalina 25/250 National Association, please accept my sincerest apologies for any and all inconveniences this situation may have caused you.

Happy Holidays,

J.B,

This is really good news for future customers & mixed news for Santa. We can shop (although not at full speed yet) and he won't get a hernia trying to haul all our orders by next week.

Thanks to all involved with this project.

Happy Holidays
