Hello

Just got back from the boat show. I was there Thursday and Friday. Took lots of pictures and posted about a third of them here. Lots of brand new 250 cat pictures in there also.

Here is the link. I've got about 15 gig of bandwidth per month enough room for about 400 views. Have at them!

Turk (currently cat 22 - in the market for a 250 soon)

Thanks for the great pictures. We used to go the show every October when we lived in PA and miss it now that we've moved north to Maine. Thinking about buying soon then?

I missed the show last year and really was looking forward to it this year. Great weather all weekend.

I almost bought a new boat that a dealer had in SC. He bought it from a lady who won it on the Price is right! He gave me a great price with almost $6000 off. With all the add-ins I wanted and four stroke 9.9 it was going to run close to $26,000. I deferred my decision until the next day and came to my senses overnight. I will continue to look for a nice used one this winter. Not prepaired to buy until around Jan or Feb.

Great shots! I especially like the Sunfish with the "storm trisail". Thanks for taking us there with you!

Newport isn't that horribly far from Portland... Virtually all of the boats at Annapolis are at Newport two weeks earlier. It's a huge show.

Thanks for posting the pics. Helps get me revved up for the St. Pete sailboat show in November.

Nice pics, Tom (Turk)!

I went to the San Antonio boat show last January ... not even ONE sailboat in the entire Alamodome ... what a waste of time. I really would like to attend a major boat show someday ... 'looks like the one at Annapolis is super.

Thanks for taking the time to post the photos.

Turk,
It's easy to get caught-up in the "buy this one now" mindset.
Congrats on noticing that. (about coming to your senses).
"There are LOTS of boats out there."
So you choose slowly and wisely.
I think it's wise to list on paper the various items
that are important to you. Helps the subconscience find it.

By the way, you have some fantastic shots. Thanks for sharing.

Dave,

Thanks much for that suggestion. We've been thinking about it and should have made time this year. Do you go to the Newport show regularly? If so, maybe we'll see you there next year...

With tandom trailor. Actually it was 23000 with wheel, basic canvas package, sails, no outboard. Porta potty - basic electronics.

New but a 2004. No bottom paint.

Add cushions, outboard, bimminy and a few other goodies and I was well over $26000. Still a very good price for new.

Under the wood insert on the right side of the counter top. One burner run by propane canister next to the burner.

It's the same at the Sacramento boat show...well, there is usually ONE sailboat, a Mac 26X, but the local Catalina dealer, The Foredeck, ceased to participate in the Sacramento show about 8 years ago, so it's pretty much just a powerboat and jetski affair now. There is one all-sailboat show once a year in April that's not too far from here, at the Jack London Square marina in Oakland, but I have heard that it's not even half the size of the Annapolis show.
