Well, we had our first "get together" meeting of the new proposed Long Island Sound C25/250 Fleet. We meet at Danfords in Port Jefferson and discussed what we felt was the main idea of the fleet which was basic comraderie and the love of sailing. The next step would be to hold another open meeting in February to solidify the ideals of the fleet and begin planning the first years activities. A few suggestions were to look into the possibilities of a fleet mooring in Port Jefferson, the Huntington area and possible Block Island. Additionally we would like to plan two or three fleet sails/cruises within the sound, some off shore activities and possible some informal racing. I would like to invite any and all C25 and C250 owners, skippers and families to attend the February meeting and become part of the newest Catalina25/250fleet. So far a tentative location will be in the Huntington area around the second week of February, but it is still open for discussion. If you are intrested, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to meet you and can't wait to get the 2005 sailing season off the ground.
