I'm looking to buy a 250 wk, and plan on keeping the boat at Lake Tahoe by summer and SF Bay by winter. I live in Reno. I have read a horror story from dave on this forum regarding the Lake Tahoe dealer. Which dealer is best in the Reno to Bay corridor?? Thanks.
Bob; I would recommend Wind Toys as well. I bought my C250WB there in 2001 and I was very pleased with his prices, recommended upgrades and his workmanship. John has also been helpful with post purchase recommendations, service and questions. Robert
Bob- I also agree that Wind Toys in Santa Rosa would be my first consideration. I bought my 2001 Catalina used but it had been purchased originally from Wind Toys. I buy parts from them and they seem very knowledgeable and helpful. They will be at the Alameda boat show at Jack London Square in April. If you can wait that long, they usually have a Catalina 250 at the show for you to sail on, and usually have some good deals to offer. Don Henfling 2001 Catalina WK

Sometimes they allow cost on upgrades so your boat shows all the toys. Order in time and let them use it.
Last spring I spent considerable time researching trailerable options and settled, theoretically, on the 250WB. However, I had never actually seen one in person. I went to Wind Toys in Santa Rosa and John spent considerable time introducing my wife and me to the features, benefits, and various options of the Catalina 250s. We made a contingency offer on the only used 250WB he had available, but lost out on it. I subsequently purchased a boat from the L.A. area. After our initial outing we had many questions. We called John and, even though we didn't purchase thisboat from him, he gladly answered all our questions. I would definetely deal with Wind Toys when I'm read to upgrade.
