does anyone know who the manufacturer of the original ob motor bracket was that came with an 86.

I think it was Garhauer. they supplied most of the hardware on my '86.

Garhauer makes the almost identical unit now sold by Catalina Direct. CD also has a replacement mounting board made of Starboard (plastic) with a stainless steel backing.
