Hey Fleet 7!

We're going to the parade. Yeah, its THIS Saturday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 PM. We plan to leave L dock at 4:15 PM for a 5 minute sail to a point just under the Ventura Bridge. We'll be anchored and rafted up in the Ventura Cove area (just like last year). Dress warm and bring your own dinner plus a pot-luck desert. The whole Indiscipline crew will be there (with guests). Classical Cat will be there. Anyone else coming?

Indiscipline's crew will be arriving around 1 PM for a day sail. Good weather is forecast that afternoon (sunny, seas 1 to 2, winds to 10, temp in 60s, finally no rain).

PS. a big power boat almost ran us over last year. Garys Christmas lights were turned on in time to save us. Make sure your anchor light is working. I'll also be showing a big coleman lantern this year.

Last year was a lot of fun! Returned to the slip about 9:30 PM.

Let's see...if I leave now, cut across the gulf, through the canal, up the coast of Mexico, I could just about.....naw, guess I'll wait until next year.

Sure sounds like fun, though.

Steve, it was alot of fun except for the big boat incident. We're bringing lots of big, bright lights.

Hope all of Fleet 7 decides to show up. Haven't heard from several of you yet. What gives? Let us (Jim or me) know one way or another if you will be there or not.

Hard to believe that someone would not see a couple of anchored 25 foot sailboats with xmas lights on!

40 foot Sea Ray express. Skipper with big watch, little hat.

My instructor used to say that. Big Rolex, even bigger head (making the hat seem small). Usually goes hand in hand with alcohol.

I knew it! I almost posted my standard, "Bet it was a Sea Ray" message but decided not to this time...Holiday spirit and all that. But I still knew it was a @**^*#@% Sea Ray!

Alllllright!!! Great temps...now if we can only get back under the bridge. Doug Cavin says there will be a 4 foot high tide at 9:34pm.... yikes!! So if we go and anchor on the other side of the bridge to watch the light parade, will we have enough clearance (maximum is 38 feet at mean(?)tide) to get back under when we want to go back to the slips? The charted clearance is 38 feet. Charted heights are to "mean high water". A 4 foot high is not extreme. 3 to 4 foot highs are in the nominal range. Thus we should have a minimum of 38 feet. Certainly no less than 37. Cavins can make that if they scrape their antenna.

I will sail over tomorrow at noon and compare the clearance at a specific time with the known tide at that time and give you an exact answer.

Jim, Doug/Mo, we should get down to the dock by 11am barring any slow down (me). We can check out the bridge then. I am bringing an extra battery down and some light strings to hoist. I will go get my lantern out right now. Anything else?

Great day had by everone! Temp in the 80s, good wind, and a great raft up for dinner and the parade. Then the fog rolled in! Pictures to follow, soon!
