part of getting old is remembering where you've been, but not how to get back.
i thought i went to a marine place on the south side of sarasota florida where they had a building with all sorts of plastics and starboard materials.
adjacent on the property was a marine parts place also.

can someone refresh my memory of who they are?

thanks in advance

Can't help you with the place, but if you have to go on a quest, ask for UHMW. Starboard is a brand name, UHMW is the name of the stuff....(cheaper too if it's not in a marine store)

Don's Marine Salvage sells starboard, although I know it's not in Sarasota.

Dave, I just read your post, the place up at the airport has starboard in different colors and thickness. Also if you are looking for a small project they have a bin out front that they throw starboard scraps in and it is free for the taking. I made a few snap on drink holders for the cost of a few hours of my time.

Yes sailgal I am sure thats the place up on old 301 west of the airport near Tallevast, they have had starboard in various sizes for a while. I have a board about six feet by one foot by 3/4 or 1 inch a sort of greyish color, have been sawing bits off for various things, if you just need a small piece give me a call you can have it just for coming and getting it in Venice, Fair winds, ron srsk Orion SW FL
