I am finished refinishing my exterior teak and need to put it back on. any sugestions as to the kind of Adhesive?

Clay,

I suggest you not use an "adhesive" -- the screws will hold the parts on OK. Instead, use a sealant, such as silicone or poly sulfide. Remember, these parts will need to come off periodically for refinishing and eventual replacement.

Agree, don't use an adhesive bond (like 3M 5200 or 4200)unless you are doing something that needs structural strength in the bond or won't be removed for a long, long time.

Of the bedding compounds, I like 3M '101' the best... I find it's thicker, smoother, dresses up very nicely with a dab of diesel on a fingertip, and lasts a long time. Downside, if you're in a hurry, it takes a few days to fully set up. (IMHO stuff)

My second choice is 'Lifeseal' or 'Sikkaflex'. (Sikkaflex is a bit cheaper, works pretty well)

Remember when you're bedding stuff... tighten the fasteners until the fitting is just 'snug' and compound 'skooshes' out all the way around. Dress the compound to a nice bead, then wait until the bedding compound hardens before taking the fasteners to their final torque.
